Title: Development Coordinator (5 days / week)
Reports To: Development Director

Summary: The Development Coordinator supports the fundraising activities of the Development department. Major duties include logistical support for overseas staff and donor trips, support for fundraising events, and liaising with donors and volunteers. Other duties include use of a donor database (Raiser’s Edge), administrative functions including coordinating mailings, and various facets of internal and external staff and donor meetings.

Fundraising Support
 Coordinate and logistically support overseas tours (approx. five per year) from Canada, as well as Canada-wide visits by PI’s overseas ministry leaders (six to eight per year). This coordination involves extensive liaising with overseas partners, donors, volunteer networks, travel agencies, airlines, etc.
 Support both the planning and execution of fundraising events.
 Interact effectively with donors and volunteers through phone calls and small mailings.
 Assist in managing relationships with donors, prospective donors and suppliers.
 Assist in maintenance of donor database and produce donor reports as needed.

Administrative Support
 Liaise with overseas offices and regional staff regarding staff and donor travel.
 Maintain “tickler system” in database of pending and recurring tasks.
 Work with IT contract staff to ensure department’s computer needs are met.

Skills and Experience
 3 years coordinator-level experience.
 Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access and/or other databases.
 Refined interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
 A self-starting independent worker, problem solver and multi-tasker.
 Client-oriented service ethic and strong teamwork orientation are essential.
 Attention to detail and a professional manner are a must.
 Sales support experience, post-secondary education, experience in event planning, and experience using Raiser’s Edge would all be considered assets.

This position operates under normal office conditions, with occasional flexibility needed to perform tasks during evenings and weekends.
